How to place an order

Email or call with the property address, the case or client name, the parties' attorneys, the intended use and the effective date. We send a quote the same business day.

The engagement letter

We send an engagement letter naming the property, block and lot, and the effective date. On a joint assignment it goes to both attorneys. The fee can be paid online or by check, and it can also be given to the appraiser on the day of inspection.

Keeping both sides informed

On joint assignments, both attorneys hear from us when the inspection is scheduled and again once it is done. The report goes to everyone on the engagement.

Effective dates

We appraise as of the current date or a past date, such as a date of death, a complaint date, or October 1 of the pre-tax year for a tax appeal.

Testimony and report reviews

We provide expert testimony when a matter goes to trial. Our opinions of value are independent, whoever retains us. We also review another appraiser's report and provide a written critique and a cross-examination outline when counsel needs one.

Fees and timing

Most residential appraisals run $600–$900, depending on the property and the assignment. Commercial and industrial appraisals start at $1,750.

The written report is usually delivered within two weeks of the inspection, once we have the property information. We also offer rush appraisals: tell us your deadline when you call or email and we'll confirm whether we can meet it. An additional fee may apply.
